Everybody DIES, but not everybody LIVES

A friend of mine posted this video on Facebook and it caught my eye because sometime this year one of my female friends took her own life which left me depressed for several weeks. I felt that I could’ve done something to prevent it. During the funeral service, one of her daughters read excerpts from her journal. I wrote something about this in “How Fragile LIFE is“.

She wrote something about “Everybody DIES, but not everybody LIVES”… this resonated with me. I have heard this many times in the past but when her daughter read it out loud I felt like the message was for me.

The end of the year is fast approaching. A lot of us make a New Year’s Resolution list. I hope this time, we make it a commitment to lead an extraordinary life. Get out of your box! Life is Precious… live it well and make it meaningful…

And don’t forget that in the grand scheme of things, we’re all connected. So please let’s make a conscious effort to make a positive difference in other people’s lives. Reach out to those in need… Practice “ALTRUISM” (Read: “Starfish Story“). Step out of your home… your city… see the world.
Let’s make the world a better place to live in.

  1. I’m sorry about the loss of your friend. I love the quotes. So many of us go through life and never really live. Life for me is to be enjoyed not just pay bills and die. I agree with everything you said and great post.

  2. My philosophy entirely, “live outside the confines of the lines” and I do!! I´ve seen too many people stay put and end up depressed, even though they had the means go beyond and actually have a happy life. Still they choose to stay within the confines and stagnate. Remove the blinkers, take a leap outside the box, we´re all only here once! 🙂 No regrets!
