What an interesting and unique concept. I have never heard this before and so I thought I should share what Nina posted on her blog “thehappylife101“. We need more “inverse paranoids” in the world. How do we cultivate this within us? I wish there was a chemical imbalance that causes this… lol 😉
I’m a big fan of Jack Canfield so I’m surprised that I have never heard of this before. His Success Principle #6: “Become an inverse paranoid.” Jack quotes Stan Dale: “I’ve always been the opposite of a paranoid. I operate as if everyone is part of a plot to enhance my well-being.” He tells the story of his first mentor, W. Clement Stone, who was described as an inverse paranoid because he chose to believe the whole world was secretly in on a plot to do him good. Instead of seeing every difficulty or challenging event as negative, he saw it for what it could be – something that was meant to enrich him, empower him or advance his causes. What changes happen when you believe the whole world is part of a conspiracy to support your success? In such a world, miracles become possible. In fact, they become probable.
W. Clement Stone, was once described as an “inverse paranoid”. Instead of believing the world was plotting to do him harm, he chose to believe the world was plotting to do him good. Instead of seeing every difficult or challenging event as a negative, he saw it for what it could be–something that was meant to enrich him, empower him, or advance his causes.
MANTRA: “I believe the world is plotting to do me good today. I can’t wait to see what it is.” And then look for the opportunities and the miracles to unfold.
So let us be an Inverse Paranoid beginning now…

“…and I think to myself, what a wonderful world!”- Louis Armstrong
A paranoid person is someone who feels extremely nervous, always fearful and worried because he believes that other people do not like him. He believes that people will only hurt him, take advantage of him and put him down. He sees the world is plotting to do him harm.
An Inverse Paranoid on the other hand is someone who believes that the world is conspiring to do him good. He believes that the world is full of goodness! That people are supportive and loving. He believes that bad things are disguised opportunities. He believes that challenges are there to enrich him and make him a better person.
Happy People are optimistic and grateful people. If you want to be happy, be an Inverse Paranoid and start focusing on the blessings in life! 🙂
